Wakefield Golf Club
Welcome to Wakefield Golf Club, a traditional club with a modern outlook. Our Club was founded in 1891, and we recently celebrated 100 years on our current site. We have much to be proud of, including a wonderfully well established, easy-walking course, which is set in undulating parkland and is widely regarded as one of the best in the region. Many mature trees line our fairways and each hole provides challenges to golfers of all abilities. Greens have true putting surfaces and because of our excellent drainage we are able to play on tees and greens all year round - something which many clubs cannot offer.
Our Club has a reputation for quality that has been built up over many decades and we are proud of our history and traditions. At the same time we know that we must move forward, so that we remain one of the most prestigious and impressive clubs, not only in the locality, but also in the County. Our Head Green-keeper has ambitious plans for the development of the course and our Club Professional David Mansell is bringing fresh ideas about how to make our course, practice facilities and Pro's shop even better in the future.
Our aim is to provide Members, Guests and Visitors alike with the best possible golfing experience and we feel there has never been a better time to visit or become a member of Wakefield Golf Club. We hope you find our web-site both interesting and informative and we look forward to meeting you at our Club.
